CEMI Electronic Media Organization

CEMI is bringing several projects for folks to play with and check out the kind of work we do.

CEMI-Automatik
A system of software and hardware that allows amateur and non-musical people of all ages to collaborate and share a music-making experience! Imagine an exhibit with some audio rhythm and light ambience playing, with stations for visitors to take control of a virtual instrument and add their part to an ongoing musical composition. Up to four people can collaborate at once and any style of music is possible!

Live Custom Kinect Demonstration
Developed using openFrameworks, this kinect installation will mesmerize you with light and geometry. Use your body to control hundreds of 3D-rendered cubes, which pulse, light and dance to your motions in front of the screen!

SaikoLED lighting Demo
SaikoLED is a local company that builds affordable, high intensity, Arduino-based LED lighting for hobbyists, electronic artists, and anyone who likes to tinker. Their new light is an educational tool designed to make controlling and programming lights accessible to anyone. SaikoLED will be bringing an array of prototypes for the faire, and there will be impromptu CEMInars on how to control the lights with a computer. Topics to include: utilizing on-system audio analysis, obtaining high-quality pastels with RGB+white, and communicating for multi-fixture patterns.

And more!
